Daniel J. Poticny, DDS
Dr. Daniel Poticny is an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry with a private practice in Grand Prairie, Texas. He is a graduate of the Ohio State University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in 1973. He graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas in 1983. Dr. Poticny’s areas of professional interest include digital dentistry and material clinical applications. He is one of the earliest to incorporate CAD/CAM chairside concepts to his dental practice which has led to his current involvement at the academic and research level with a variety of digital systems. He is co-founder for the Southwest Center for Advanced Clinical Studies in Houston, and the Fully Integrated Practice, an educational portal for the use of digital systems and dental ceramics.
Jan-Frederik Güth, Dr. med. dent.
Dr. Jan-Frederik Güth is a faculty member at the Department of Prosthodontics of the Dental School of the Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich, Germany since 2007. He became Associate Professor in 2012. In 2013 Dr. Güth spent seven months as a Research Scholar at the University of Southern California (USC), Division of Restorative Sciences in Los Angeles, working with Dr. Pascal Magne. He was placed 3rd at the Espertise Talent Award organized by 3M ESPE in 2010. His fields of attention and research are digital impressions and workflows, CAD/CAM technologies and high-performance polymers.
Paulo Monteiro, DMD, MSc
Dr. Paulo Monteiro obtained his degree as a Doctor of Dental Medicine at the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde-Sul and his Master’s Degree in Dental Medicine at the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Egas Moniz (ISCSEM) in Caparica, Portugal. He completed post-graduate training in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry at ISCSEM. Currently, he works there as an Assistant Professor responsible for the post-graduate program in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry and is occupied in a dental practice. In addition Dr. Monteiro is a PhD student in Dentistry at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. He is involved in research of new dental materials, including composite resins, dental adhesives, dental ceramics and new digital technologies.
Prof. Albert J. Feilzer, DDS, PhD
Prof. Albert J. Feilzer graduated in Dentistry from the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in 1982. He received his obtained his PhD degree in 1989. In June 2009 he received a Master’s degree in Health Care Management. From 1982 to 1998, he worked part time in a dental clinic in Amsterdam as dentist-general practitioner and part-time as an academic researcher at the Department of Dental Materials Science at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA). In 1998, he changed to a full-time occupation at ACTA. Prof. Feilzer became a Full Professor in Dental Materials Sciences at ACTA in 2003. Between 2001 and 2007, he also held the endowed chair at the Department of Management of Innovation and Technology of the Rotterdam School of Management (Erasmus University Rotterdam), the Netherlands. He became Dean of ACTA in 2009. His main areas of interest include materials testing, stress analysis and bonding
Prof. Albert Mehl, Dr. med. dent., Dr. rer. biol. hum.
Prof. Albert Mehl qualified as a dentist in 1989 at the Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. He continued his studies including a Master Degree in Physics there before being appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry, Periodontology and Pediatric Dentistry in 1992. He then moved to a similar position at the Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich, Germany before becoming a full Professor in 2002 and a further Academic Doctorate in Human Biology in 2003. Since 2010 Prof. Mehl is full Professor in the Department of Computerized Dentistry at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. His research activities embrace the physical and mechanical properties of restorative materials with particular emphasis on ceramics and composites. His specific research in CAD/CAM dentistry covers scanner and software developments.
Prof. Bernd Wöstmann, Dr. med. dent.
Prof. Bernd Wöstmann is the Chairman of the Department of Prosthodontics, Dental Clinic, at the Justus-Liebig-University Giessen, Germany. In 1985 he qualified as a dentist at the University of Münster, Germany. He worked there as an Assistant Doctor in the Department of Prosthodontics for nine years before being appointed Assistant Professor at the University of Giessen, Germany. Prof. Wöstmann became a full Professor in 1998 and earned a lifetime professorship for Clinical Materials Sciences and Gerodontology in 2002. His main areas of interest include dental biomaterials, clinical aspects of material science; impression taking in dentistry; implantology and gerodontology and long-term follow-up studies of the behavior of dental restorations.
Prof. Claus-Peter Ernst, Dr. med. dent., PhD
Prof. Claus-Peter Ernst studied Dentistry at the Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich, Germany and obtained his degree (Dr. med. dent.) in 1990. He initially worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department for Operative Dentistry and Periodontology at the University of Munich for three years before he became Senior Assistant and Associate Professor at the Department for Operative Dentistry at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany. Since 2005, he is full Professor at the department for Operative Dentistry in Mainz. Moreover, he has a part-time occupation in the private dental office “zahnÄrzte im Gutenberg-Center” in Mainz with a focus on Aesthetic Dentistry. His main fields of research are Adhesive and Aesthetic Dentistry.
Prof. Daniel Edelhoff, CDT, Dr. med. dent., PhD
Prof. Daniel Edelhoff received his Dental Technician degree from the Dental Technician School in Düsseldorf, Germany, in 1982. In 1991, he obtained his Doctor of Medical Dentistry from the University of Aachen (RWTH), Germany. Prof. Edelhoff served as Visiting Professor at the Dental Clinical Research Center of the Oregon Health and Sciences University, Portland, Oregon from 1999 to 2001. He obtained his postdoctoral lecture qualification at the University of Aachen in June 2003. Prof. Edelhoff is a board certified Specialist in Prosthodontics and currently a Tenured Associate Professor at the Department of Prosthodontics and Dental Material Sciences at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Germany.
Prof. Daniel Wismeijer, PhD, DDS
Prof. Daniel Wismeijer graduated in Dentistry at the University of Nijmegen Dental School in Nijmegen, the Netherlands in 1984. Afterwards he joined the department of Oral Function and worked in the section of Special Dental Care and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics. He received his PhD in 1996 on the subject of overdentures on dental implants. From 1985 until 2006 he worked at the Amphia teaching Hospital in Breda, The Netherleands in the Department of Oral Surgery and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics. In 1985 he started a general dental practice which since 1990 is a referral practice for Oral Implantology. He is an ITI fellow since 1993. In 2006 he accepted the position of Professor of Oral Implantology and Prosthetic Dentistry at ACTA Amsterdam, the Netherlands which he combines with his referral practice. He is the chair and head of the section of Oral Function and Restorative Dentistry.
Stefen Koubi, DDS, PhD
Dr. Stefen Koubi graduated from the Marseille University School of Dentistry, France, in 1998. He earned a doctorate degree in Dental Surgery in 2001. In the same year, he became an Assistant at the Department of Conservative Odontology at the University Clinic of Marseille and completed post-graduate education in Implantology at the same university in 2004. In 2008, he became an Associate Professor in Operative Dentistry at the University of Marseille and received his PhD in 2011. He also is the owner of a private practice in Marseille and works in a private practice in Paris once a week for smile consultation. In addition, Dr. Koubi is the founder of L’Institut de la Facette in Marseilles, a training center mainly focused on laminate veneer restorations. In 2011, he was awarded Best lecturer of the year in France.
Univ.-Prof. Gerwin Arnetzl, Dr. med. univ., Dr. med. dent.
Prof. Gerwin Arnetzl graduated with a Dr. med. univ. from Karl-Franzens University in Graz, Austria in 1983 and completed his Specialization in Dental, Oral and Craniomandibular Sciences at the Medical University of Graz in 1988. He received his habilitation, the German qualification for professorship, in 1994. Since 1995, he has been the Head of the Working Group for Restorative Dentistry and Adhesive Prosthodontics at the Clinical Department for Dental Restorative Sciences, Graz. In addition, he runs a private practice in Graz. His research, work interests and publications focus on adhesive and all-ceramic restorations as well as CAD/CAM applications in dentistry.
Walter Devoto, DDS
Dr. Walter Devoto obtained his Degree in Dentistry from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He has worked as a teacher in Conservative Dentistry in Geneva and Madrid, Spain. Currently he is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Siena, Italy, the University of Marseille, France and the University of Barcelona, Spain. In addition, he is the owner of a private practice in Sestri Levante, near the ligurian sea. His main areas of interest are aesthetic and conservative dentistry, with a focus on the use of composite materials. He is a professional son of Samuele Valerio.
