Espertise™ Experts Conference: Comfortable solutions in times of demographic changes
Nov 21-22, 2013 Munich, Germany
Internationally renowned speakers from universities in Western Europe shared their vision and philosophy regarding the future of dentistry in an aging society!
Due to an increase in life expectancy and low birth rates, the percentage of senior patients is growing. In view of their multimorbidity, multipharmacy and increased vulnerability, new treatment concepts have to be developed. In addition, financial limitations of many patients will lead to the need of differentiated, economical healthcare.
All speakers agreed that in the future of dentistry, minimally invasive, simple and safe low-cost treatment options are essential. They meet the demands of senior and economically deprived patients. The lecturers introduced different solutions. For example, a simple concept to produce direct restorations was presented. Other speakers showed indirect techniques involving digital technologies and concepts of minimally invasive implant therapy. Furthermore, it was emphasized that preventive concepts for adults are becoming increasingly important in the future of dentistry as well.
